Administrative Specialist JBCR - Part Time (Comal County Jail)

The Part Time Administrative Assistant is a customer service and solution-oriented position that supports staff within the Jail-Based Competency Restoration program. This position will facilitate communication, administrative, and/or clerical tasks to support the JBCR Program staff and other programs assigned.

You will get to:

  • Maintain flow of information for court orders using multiple systems and effectively communicate with assigned program personnel as directed by Program Managers/Directors.
  • Provides routine office support according to organization/departmental procedures such as: answering phone calls, responding to emails, coordination of court orders, distributing orders, updating system details, typing, and filing.
  • Assembles, enters, and organizes data in program tracking systems daily to maintain accurate information for reporting.
  • Complies with reports and distributes according to departmental/organizational procedures.
  • Provides administrative support for the assigned Program Managers/Directors in accordance withdepartmental/organizational procedures.
  • Provides compiled reports for all assigned programs in a timely manner.
  • Works well with others in a collaborative manner. Actively participates as a member of the team.
  • Compliance with Hill Country and Comal SO policies and procedures, accrediting/regulatory bodies, and contractual requirements.
  • Demonstrates ethical conduct, professionalism, and confidentiality in all activities.
  • Communicates and works with staff/patients/outside personnel in a manner that demonstrates sensitivity to cultural diversity.
  • Adapts to changing work requirements.

You'll definitely need:

  • High school diploma
  • Two years' experience in duties related to the position.
  • To complete and maintain both CPR certification and Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior training.
  • Two years' experience utilizing computer database systems or web portals
  • Two years' experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
  • To have a valid Texas State Driver's License.
  • To have current automobile insurance and the ability to travel to individuals when necessary.

  • Work autonomously to complete assignments within community and HHSC standards with a high level of quality. 
  • Work cooperatively with others and be punctual and consistent in attendance because your people will rely on you!

We can pay you:

$15.00 per hour and benefits, plus good karma for doing good in the world.
