Community Transportation Driver - Part-time (Kyle MH Center)

The Community Transportation Driver (CTD) will provide safe transport of individuals to various health and community appointments.  The CTD will provide documentation in compliance with HCMHDD standards and support individuals with a high level of customer service. This compassionate, caring, and supportive team member will contribute to the independence and improved state of well-being for individuals living with a disability.   

You will get to:

  • Provide transportation for individuals to various health-related and community appointments.
  • Stay abreast of construction and any other issues that may impact transportation in the Canyon Lake area.
  • Maintain a clean and mechanically sound vehicle, performing inspections as necessary, and report any issues accordingly. 
  • Follow agency policy and procedures regarding vehicle operations, maintenance, and client transport.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ensure an environment free of hazards.
  • Document travel compliance with the organization's standards.

You'll definitely need:

  • High school diploma, GED, or competency test with 3 letters of recommendation.
  • To complete and maintain both CPR certification and Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior training.
  • To have a valid Texas State Driver's License.
  • To have current automobile insurance.

We'll also want you to:

  • Employ excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage and report effectively.
  • Maintain a well-organized schedule and independently make decisions that improve proficiency of travel.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation with adherence to HCMHDD standards.
  • Sustain a calm demeanor when under pressure to handle sometimes difficult situations.
  • Provide exemplary customer service and care to individuals with their best interest at heart.
  • Perform simple mathematical concepts.
  • Track and analyze data to improve efficiency.
  • Be flexible in schedule to meet non-traditional work hours to include two Saturdays per month.
  • Work cooperatively with others and be punctual and consistent in attendance because your people will rely on you!
