Help us help others:

The Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist designs, implements, and manages training programs to upskill employees, aligning them with organization goals by assessing needs, facilitating sessions, managing LMS, and supporting program effectiveness. Key responsibilities include supporting curriculum, delivering training, and tracking compliance, requiring strong person-centered skills, project management, and communication skills.

You will get to:

  • Conduct required staff training for employees, such as Prevention Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid
  • Maintain certifications and the physical ability to teach all required courses for new employees, including, but not limited to, PMAB, CPR, First Aid, and MHFA
  • Work in coordination with the Learning and Development Coordinator to schedule all applicable training for employees.
  • Document training and maintain training records following established guidelines to have a record of training and ensure training records are up to date.
  • Travel to work sites across the organization for training
  • Must become certified in PMAB, First Aid, and CPR within three months of employment and maintain certification without interruption thereafter.
  • Must complete 2-day Person Centered Thinking Training within 12 months of employment and become certified as a trainer when certification is available.

You'll definitely need:

  • High School Diploma or GED and at least 4 years of face-to-face adult classroom training experience
  • A bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of face-to-face adult classroom training experience (preferred)
  • A valid Texas State Driver's License.
  • Current automobile insurance and the ability to travel when necessary.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Be comfortable working with technology and can easily navigate new technology platforms
  • Efficiently move through a to-do list and effectively prioritize and triage competing demands
  • Demonstrate passion for connecting individuals and families with excellent care
  • Sustain a calm demeanor when under pressure to handle sometimes difficult situations.
  • Provide exemplary customer service and care to your team.
  • Work autonomously to complete assignments.
  • Work cooperatively with others and be punctual and consistent in attendance because your people will rely on you!
