Help us help others:

The Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist implements and manages training programs to upskill employees and support program effectiveness. Key responsibilities include supporting curriculum, delivering training, and tracking compliance, requiring strong person-centered skills, project management, and communication skills.

You will get to:

  • Conduct required staff training for employees, such as Prevention Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid
  • Maintain certifications and the physical ability to teach all required courses for new employees, including, but not limited to, PMAB, CPR, First Aid, and MHFA
  • Work in coordination with the Learning and Development Coordinator to schedule all applicable training for employees.
  • Document training and maintain training records following established guidelines to have a record of training and ensure training records are up to date.
  • Travel to work sites across the organization for training
  • Must become certified in PMAB, First Aid, and CPR within three months of employment and maintain certification without interruption thereafter.
  • Must complete 2-day Person Centered Thinking Training within 12 months of employment and become certified as a trainer when certification is available.

You'll definitely need:

  • High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of face-to-face adult classroom training experience
  • A bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of face-to-face adult classroom training experience (preferred)
  • A valid Texas State Driver's License.
  • Current automobile insurance and the ability to travel when necessary.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Be comfortable working with technology and can easily navigate new technology platforms
  • Efficiently move through a to-do list and effectively prioritize and triage competing demands
  • Demonstrate passion for connecting individuals and families with excellent care
  • Sustain a calm demeanor when under pressure to handle sometimes difficult situations.
  • Provide exemplary customer service and care to your team.
  • Work autonomously to complete assignments.
  • Work cooperatively with others and be punctual and consistent in attendance because your people will rely on you!
