The Contracts Specialist performs complex contract duties to include developing, analyzing, evaluating, reviewing, processing, ensuring applicable compliance, inspecting, implementing, and monitoring contracts. Work requires extensive contact with Hill Country personnel, vendors, and governmental officials. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are collaborated with  the supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

You will get to:

  •  Provides technical and administrative support to include reviewing, processing, answering questions, providing assistance and handling complaints, and resolution of discrepancies and problems regarding contracts, billing, payment, and warrant actions.
  •  Prepares and reviews contracts, amendments, subcontracts, interlocal agreements, memorandum of understanding, and other similar types of agreements. 
  •  Monitors contract performance by examining billings, fiscal data, and eligibility determinations for compliance with terms of contract and policies.
  •  Tracks and executes renewals through the contract management system.
  •  Prepares quarterly contract reports.
  •  Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

You'll definitely need:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, or related field

• 2 years in Contract administration (Experience can be satisfied by full-time or prorated part-time equivalent)

• State Comptroller Certification in Contracts Management(CTCM) within 6 months of start date

• Have a valid Texas State Driver’s License.

• Have current automobile insurance.

    We'll also want you to:

    • Conducts audits, researches, and identifies problems with proposals, contracts, contractors, or lettings and proposes solutions.

    • Maintain, update, and compile detailed data, reports, summaries, files, records, logs, statistics, or specific contracts and revisions within the contract management system; writes routine and unique correspondence 

    • Extreme attention to detail, willingness to handle a high volume of tasks, problem-solving skills, proactive, and a great attitude

      We can pay you:

      $55,000 - $65,000 annually and benefits
