Help us help others:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) on our mental health healing team performs various nursing functions to provide care, treatment, and welfare of people in services. This includes medication administration, transcription, observation, and reporting of patient physical and mental status, assisting the RN, and documentation of patient care services. This compassionate, caring, and supportive team member will connect with individuals to support and provide optimum healthcare and contribute to the overall well-being of members of the community living with mental health challenges.

You will get to:

  • Perform nursing functions within the scope of the LVN license.
  • Provide medication, education, training, and support to patients and families in care.
  • Participate in establishing and maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
  • Maintains inventory of the medications, medical supplies, and medication room.
  • Provide guidance for the direct care staff to ensure a safe and therapeutic treatment atmosphere.
  • Provide training to the direct care staff regarding essential nursing care interventions, facility policy and procedure, and management guidelines.
  • Observes, oversees, and monitors the use and implementation of Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB) interventions. Ensures that PMAB methods are implemented appropriately, safely, and that all PMAB interventions are documented by policy.
  • Ensure infection control, security, and safety measures are followed.
  • Write and document articulately while using correct grammar so that documentation is clear and valuable.

You'll definitely need:

  • A license to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (prior work experience in a mental health treatment setting would be awesome!)
  • To complete and maintain both CPR certification and the Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior training.
  • To maintain a valid Texas State Driver's License.
  • To have current automobile insurance and the ability to travel to individuals when necessary.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Sustain a calm demeanor when under pressure to manage sometimes difficult situations.
  • Provide exemplary customer service and care to individuals with their best interests at heart.
  • Complete and maintain both CPR certification and Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior training.
