At Hill Country MHDD Centers our purpose is to help people have positive control over the life they desire and who are valued for their contributions to their communities. We provide services for adult and child behavioral health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, substance abuse, crisis care, and justice involved services. The Receptionist will support counselors, physicians, staff, and individuals in the Mental Health Center Clinic. The Jail Based Peer Specialist embedded within the Kerr County Jail, is a compassionate and dedicated individual in the Mental Health Grant Program for Justice-Involved Individuals (MHGJII). In this role, you will provide triage/liaison between the Kerr County Jail, Hill Country MHDD Centers and community resources to assure continuity of care for people identified as having reported or potential mental health and/or substance abuse disorder, with the goal of re-entry planning. 


Under the direction of the Director of Peer Support Services, the Peer Support Specialist provides individual and group peer support services to individuals in need of behavioral health support. Supports include assistance with more effectively utilizing the service delivery system, understanding and coping with stressors, along with coaching and mentoring of the individuals served through peer support.


We are searching for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our mental health healing team and perform various nursing functions to provide care, treatment, and welfare of people in our services. This includes medication administration, transcription, observation, and reporting of patients' physical and mental status, and documentation of patient care services.


Under the direction of the Director of Peer Support Services, the Peer Support Specialist provides individual and group peer support services to individuals in need of behavioral health support. Under the supervision of the JBCR Supervisor, the JBCR Assistant Supervisor will be responsible for providing competency restoration services, which include legal education for defendants found incompetent to stand trial and psychosocial rehabilitation services. This position will directly supervise the JBCR team and assist staff with the day-to-day operations of the program and the provision of curriculum.


The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will directly support one of our physicians by collecting vital signs, documenting medical histories, and detailing an individual's physical and mental status and needs. The CMA will coordinate and maintain medical, discharge, and authorization records while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.


Under the general direction of the JBCR Supervisor, the Care Coordinator assists with daily curriculum, provides case-management services, and interacts with people enrolled in the Jail-Based Competency Restoration (JBCR) program. Assists with administrative and communication with court and jail staff.


The Inpatient Care Specialist on the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) assists the treatment team to include Psychiatrists, RN's, LVNs, QMPHs, and other unit staff, in ensuring that the basic needs of people in service on the unit are met. The Accounts Payable Specialist will perform moderately complex bookkeeping and clerical work in accounting and fiscal recordkeeping. Work may involve specializing in one phase of work, such as reviewing accounting reports for accuracy. The Community Diversion Coordinator is responsible for providing services and supports to individuals living with mental illness who are involved or at risk of being involved with the criminal justice system. This includes individuals who are participating in the Mental Health Court Program or otherwise mandated to participate in mental health services. The Community Diversion Coordinator will assess the individual's strengths and needs and, in collaboration with the individual, develop a person-centered recovery plan.


The Assistant Clinic Director is under the direct supervision of the Clinic Director. This position works closely with the clinic director to ensure that all aspects of the clinic operation are sound from day to day. This includes planning for staff shortages, allocating administrative support staff to fill gaps, and, where necessary, providing administrative support and/or direct service to individuals in need.


Clinical Intern

Hill Country MHDD Centers partners with local institutions of higher education to provide volunteer internship opportunities for individuals pursuing careers in the behavioral health field, particularly those interested in acquiring experience in a community mental health setting.




The ICM/Wraparound Facilitator will engage high-need youth and their families in developing, implementing, and monitoring an intensive, individualized plan of care. This position helps the youth and families to identify a support team that will collaboratively design a plan based upon family needs, strengths, and goals. The ICM/Wraparound Facilitator will support the team as they implement the plan and monitor its success. This position will require some early evenings. 


Under the general supervision of the Director of Forensic Services, this position supports incarcerated individuals by collaborating with stakeholders in the courts and jails to support the continuity of care of individuals both while in jail and post-release. The Jail Continuity of Care Peer Support Specialist will meet with individuals in the Hays County Jail in a supportive manner, sharing lived experiences and helping with goal development, community reintegration, and skill development.


The Mobile Unit Care Coordinator serves as a Qualified Mental Health Professional – Community Services (QMHP-CS) responsible for operating a mobile clinic unit to deliver behavioral health services across rural and underserved areas within Hill Country MHDD Center’s (HCMHDDC) catchment area. This position combines direct service provision with logistical oversight, including driving the mobile unit, ensuring equipment setup, maintaining a safe and functional mobile care environment, and delivering individualized services in accordance with the Texas Resiliency and Recovery (TRR) model and agency standards.

Under the supervision of the Director of Forensic Services, the Jail Diversion Clinician will be responsible for completing intake assessments and intervention for participants in the Comal County Mental Health Court, as well as for individuals transitioning out of the Comal County jail. This position will act as a liaison with MH Court representatives and jail administration. The Jail Diversion Clinician will provide intake assessments, counseling, and coordination of care for justice-involved individuals and will provide clinical case consultation with program stakeholders.

Under the direction of the Facility Director, this position works with CSU staff and providers, Hill Country MHDD Administrative and support staff, crisis workers, law enforcement, community representatives, individuals in treatment, and families/visitors/vendors. Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, is required.


The goal of the Crisis Counseling Program is to assist individuals, families, and communities in recovering from the challenging effects of the catastrophic flooding of the Guadalupe River occurring in the early-morning hours of July 4, 2025. The crisis counselor outreach specialist will provide assistance to address the behavioral health needs of disaster survivors through community-based outreach, crisis counseling, public education, and other supportive behavioral health services to survivors. This is a federally funded grant position that is temporary and is expected to be funded for a minimum of 6 months, but may be extended depending on funding and need.


Contracts Specialist

The Contracts Specialist performs complex contract duties to include developing, analyzing, evaluating, reviewing, processing, ensuring applicable compliance, inspecting, implementing, and monitoring contracts. Work requires extensive contact with agency personnel, vendors, and governmental officials. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.



The Next Step LPHA (Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts) position is funded through a Health and Human Services Grant in collaboration with the Crisis Center of Comal County and NB Housing Partners. This position is responsible for providing services and support to adults with mental health conditions who are without consistent and safe housing to reach their vision of recovery.


The Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) is an integral part of the Substance Use Services (SUS) team as the bridge that connects program participants and the clinical staff. Under the leadership of the SUS Program Director, the PRSS provides opportunities for individuals referred to and participating in outpatient substance use services to direct their own recovery process (self-determination) and act as an advocate for persons served.


The ICM/Wraparound Facilitator will engage high-need youth and their families in developing, implementing, and monitoring an intensive, individualized plan of care. This position helps the youth and families to identify a support team that will collaboratively design a plan based upon family needs, strengths, and goals.

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, coordinating the PAP program, opening/closing consumers in NEC, completing consumers' financial/demographic, follow-up appointments with consumers, New Generation Medication Tracking, McKesson Purchase orders, and NEC overrides and prior authorizations.


Under the general direction of the JBCR Supervisor, this part-time position will meet with individuals in the competency restoration program, which is housed in the Hays County jail. This position will lead groups and meet with individuals in a supportive manner, sharing lived experiences and helping with goal development, community reintegration, skill development, and competency restoration.


The Mental Health Crisis Care Coordinator is to join the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) to provide crisis intervention, prevention, and postvention services to individuals experiencing a mental/behavioral health crisis. They will assess needs, develop treatment plans, and effectively collaborate with individuals and their family members.
